i just didn't remotely care about Batwing or Batwoman

They were completely uninterestingto me. And i wasn't crazy with Batman in this, not so much the mindjacking, they probably should have written him a bit better with an even smaller part of the story. I think overall the movie lacked a strong enough central narrative. Like cramming too many characters and stories in TASM2.

Actually, I agree that Batwing was one hero too many. And the Heretic went out like a punk.

agree, but after the first two abysmal Batman Cartoon movies i wasnt expecting much. And lo and behold, it was only slightly better, which isnt saying much.

Batwing was probably the most useful person in the entire movie

This movie was definitely strange. It was a Batwoman and Batwing origin story, a Nightwing-as-Batman & Damian-Robin story, a Talia/League of Assassins story, a Batman Rogues Gallery story (with Black Mask/Mad Hatter/Firefly/Killer Moth/Electrocutioner/etc.), and then hints at Batgirl at the end after awkward shot of a huge Bat-family all going after Penguin. There was too much going on. The one memorable Batwoman scene is the flashback where Batman saves her in an alley from some thugs and she doesn't thank him, and it motivates her to become her own hero who wouldn't need saving. As for Batwing, I knew the original comic book version, who I thought was cool, so I didn't know this version of Batwing and didn't feel the movie did a great job of presenting him. There's also no reason to feel for Batwing because Lucius Fox doesn't die, so there was no real tragedy for him by the end of the film, and as a superhero, he's kind of a guy who just got lucky with advanced tech. His final battle with Firefly was somewhat memorable though. Firefly and Killer Moth may be more fitting villains for Batwing for sure, but the movie kills off so many villains that you kind of wonder why more heroes are even necessary when the villain population is on the decline.

Had the opposite experience... Went in thinking I wouldn't care about them (never read a comic with Batwing, only read like 1 or 2 Batwoman appearances years ago), and this film completely won me over toward these characters. Would love to see more!

DC should really do a new animated series in the spirit of B:TAS.
