What was with joes hair at the beginning??
The "payot" (curls) are worn by boys in Orthodox Jewish families per an interpretation of the Torah as forbidding the shaving or cutting of (boys'/men's) hair in front of the ears.
I don't know why I bothered to answer, as so very few people (hopefully!) will see this movie.
