This and "We Are Your Friends" make "Groove" look like a masterpiece. And I didn't care for "Groove", as it was made by an outsider who was not much of a filmmaker. The main theme, "Heaven Scent" by Bedrock aka John Digweed and Nick Muir was also pretty weak compared to most of the tracks out at the time on Hooj Choons.
There is a special place in hell for EDM, which is a saccharine pop bastardization of house and trance with vocals. Two of the only respectable electronic music-only large scale festivals left in the US are the Movement Festival in Detroit and Moogfest in North Carolina. I found "Party Monster" and "24 Hour Party People" to be quite a bit more genuine than this new wave of EDM garbage. These EDM films glorify tools like Steve Aoki and David Guetta, who sit there and pump their fists in the air while a guy dressed in black is down by their feet doing the actual mixing, if they aren't already using a pre-recorded or auto-beat matched set.
