Sorry but I really don't understand that argument. If the first 30 minutes of a 70 minute movie are so unimportant that they can basically just be skipped, that's a huge problem.

Hell, even in the 'Killing Joke' portion of the film, we had that stupid line about how the Joker apparently sleeps with prostitutes on a regular basis. The thing that makes that "revelation" so problematic is that it kind of leans towards the interpretation that he did in fact rape Barbara, which is something that Alan Moore himself has denied...
