So, what is is about? Here's your plot summary!

Olmos y Robles (which translates into English as Elms and Oaks) is an easy-going, laid-back Spanish TV series that has gained some popularity ever since it was first aired on Spanish television. In Spain, it airs on "La Primera", the first national TV broadcasting channel and it plays uninterrupted all the way through, no breaks and no commercials.

The show is about a couple of "bobbies", two Guardia Civiles that are stationed in a small town in Ezcaray, La Rioja, a seemingly remote area of Spain, a small town where everybody knows each other and where everyone gets along well with their neighbour.

One copper, Robles is a tough but kind, highly-skilled member of the Guardia Civil’s counter-terrorism unit and the other copper, Olmos is an outwardly clumsy fellow although quite an intelligent person, I’d say. He plays the comedy side-kick.

The two Guardia Civiles are on opposite poles from each other but somehow, they are forced to work together and they must learn to live with each other’s personality, sense of humour, jokes, pranks, problems, etc.… and all that whilst they solve the most challenging cases which are never short of danger and life-threatening risks. The townspeople also play an important role in the play since they often meddle in Olmos and Robles’ business and in some way assist them with their investigations.

It’s a nice enough TV series to watch with easy-to-follow storylines, no broad accents so it’s pretty easy for us foreigners to understand, plus the nice views and sceneries of (not so ) rural Spain. Worth a watch!
