What's with the fingers snapping?

Probably my last thread before the boards go to movie hell.

Well, after Paul, delivers some sort of speech all the presents start snapping their fingers instead of applauding. What's the story behind that? Does anybody know?

I'm sure gonna miss these suckers :'(

I don't know that there's a real *story* behind it, other than it's just their way of applauding. It's not unique just to them; I've seen others do it, both in other movies and in real life.

so it's the 60's version of "jazz hands" then
