Interesting idea, but the host makes it lose all credibility

I watched the trailer for this documentary.

Then I started to watch the documentary. I quit after 10 minutes.

I am white and I do think a lot of white people take things for granted and do not consider other minorities' difficulties.

However, the sensationalist tone that the host or pseudo-reporter of this documentary had was totally ridiculous. Especially that line "Ok, now it's time for YOU to get uncomfortable"... YOU as in white people... excuse me??? It clearly shows he was making this about something PERSONAL to him and wanting some sort of "let's get even" moments, rather than a balanced discussion about white privilege without needing to go after white people.

And I'd say the same thing if it were a white guy looking at a group of black kids with a judgmental expression on his face and saying something ridiculous like "well it's about time you black people started to work hard"!!!

These are all stereotypes - white people are "always" comfortable with their lives, black people always uncomfortable, so "it's about time you white people got uncomfortable!"; black people are lazy and 'ghetto', so "it's about time they got a job and worked hard!"... umm...??

So my opinion on this: good idea, it's an interesting subject worth discussing. Very poor execution of that idea. Poor "journalism" if it can even be called such a thing.

In times where we see unprofessional and racist police officers murdering black people just because they feel like it and think they can get away with it, it would be healthier to discuss racism and privilege with somebody who doesn't have an agenda in looking for a whole race to blame, that's just trash "journalism".
