elements of Madeleine McCann story

Good up until the end when it became frantic and absolutely, stupidly ridiculous.

The story can't make up its mind what it wants to be-- it starts out with similarities to the Madeleine McCann case, even calling one of the characters Madeleine, but quickly veers off to a different story

do you know if this story is true?

reply

I don't think so. There is nothing that says it is.

You're right. There is no Jocelyn Shaker or an equivalent. This film is inspired by the McCann case at most.

Why this is also called, "Abducted: the Jocelyn Shaker Case" is beyond me. Shame on them for trying to get viewers to think there is a real case.

I was already thinking of the McCanns before the Madeline in this appeared as a TV presenter. Clues are:- The hotel. The mistrustful Colombian police substituted for the mistrustful Portuguese police as in the case of the McCanns. I just wonder if the production employed another true story and linked it with the McCann story to make this drama.

Also, the parents leaving the child alone in the hotel room while they dine nearby and they check on her at intervals. Also, a neighbor seen leaving hurriedly at the time of the disappearance. Also, the parents the focus of the investigation instead of looking for the real kidnapper.
