Wonderful.
Not least because it finally gives Faye Marsay something to get her teeth into. She really is top drawer.

shareA bright opening episode.
It's that man again!!
Why does she walk around with bare feet?
shareThis is the 80's. And it's based on real characters.
A real nanny whose book Love, Nina, was published a couple of years ago. It's a series of letters nanny Nina Stibbe wrote home to her sister in Leicester. Like some very fashionable free spirits of the time, Nina didn't wear shoes.
The writer character, Malcolm, was based on Alan Bennet, who didn't like his portrayal in the book and so they wrote him out. The woman watering window boxes is going to turn out to be Claire Tomalin and there are other disguised celebrities involved.
Because she wants to? Why does it matter? Shoes are nasty, I use them only when necessary which usually means at work and when on my bike.
shareShe reminds me of a way easier on the eyes Lena Dunham.
