Beatrice and Lemony and the Father…?

Beatrice was the orphans mother… and the love of Lemony’s life. It’s pretty clear (I think) that Lemony is not the dad, So… who was the father and just when did Lemony have this romance with Beatrice?

Overall, probably one of the best young person’s story since the Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka, but boy… the deliberate lack of closure & moral clarity could be rough.
