No Black Actors?

I'm told that this alleged "comedy" is set in Atlanta. Atlanta? There isn't a single black character/actor featured among the Kate Hudsons and Jennifer Anistons. Not one? I'm not black, but how can you make a movie supposedly about mothers and daughters/sons without a single character of color??? Didn't anyone on this movie pay attention to the whole debate over the Oscars?

Garry Marshall hasn't made a good movie in 25 years. Now I have to wonder if he's becoming racist in his old age. Sad.

But, yes, please stop making these crappy Garry Marshall holiday movies. They are awful!

Here's the cast list. This was filmed before the Oscars so I find it interesting that it has a diverse cast.

It has Loni Love,Ariana Neal,Donielle Artese,Brandi Lewis,Eric Elijah Rogers,Kevin Marshall Pinkney,Shara London, and others in it. If you look at the cast list it might surprise you. Loni Love is featured in the trailer and also will be in the movie a lot.

Why must you say such ugliness? Gary Marshall still makes good movies. Hollywood actors say that but the people still like to see them. And as for color, was it really necessary for you to be PCPolice? There are white people in Atlanta and there are movies that I've seen where their all back and not a white to be found. Who cares? Love both kinds. And Timothy Olyphant was in this movie. Wow, was excited to see his name listed. Going to see it just because of him. He's not in enough movies.

"No Black Actors?"

None? I find that appalling!! I will most certainly not be seeing this film if that's the case. How insensitive. What do they think, that only white people live in this racially diverse country of ours? Sounds awful racist to me.

I noticed there were no Eskimo's either, and I'm just steaming about that one. That really chaps my otherwise smooth and supple buttocks. How can there not be a single blubber-eatin, seal-spearin, nose-rubbin Eskimo in this film? Are they going for a record? Bet there are no Native Americans either!

DIRTY RACISTS!

We should boycott this film. There are no black actors! No Eskimo's! And no Injuns either! Clearly this film was made with the assistance of the KKK.

White people....UNITE! Speak out against these sorts of blatant injustices. We've been programmed to respond with anger to such outrageous non-PC behavior by other whites, and anger is what we'll feel! Cause, that's what we're told to feel. And we do what we're told, we're good at that. And if you don't do/say/feel what your told...YOU'RE A RACIST!

We are all dirty, privileged, former-racist, white-skinned devils, and we must feel shame, while also enthusiastically celebrating all which is non-white. If you do not engage in exactly that....YOU'RE A RACIST!

And if you've ever enjoyed a film which didn't have a very diverse cast....YOU'RE A RACIST!

Obey!
Conform!
Behave!

"I noticed there were no Eskimo's either"

Though you might choose to call them by their true name, well. Yes. I mean, no, there is not a single one of them.
Very good point.

Its in Atlanta...not Hawtlanta..thats why

So, is there one of the Mothers who is a person of color? I'm not familiar with all the actors in the cast.

reply

Petition the studios to put white people in more "all black" films and then whine to us. Atlanta has plenty of white people too. Not all movies have to have black sass and be gangsta to appease the politically correct.

reply

Eventhough I'm pretty sure you are a troll, I will still respond to this stupid post.

Just because there are no black actors in the movie doesn't mean there is any form of racism going on.

reply

Nothing could be worse then the Andy Griffith show form the 1960's. Took place in North Carolina??? Six seasons or however long it lasted....not one black person.

reply

The 1960's? Blacks didn't exist ANYWHERE on the 100 television shows from the 1960's, except for I SPY--Blacks were never seen on Television then

reply

You're right. Usually they were just maids or cooks or train men or maintenance people. Julia was one show with Dianne Carroll about a widowed mom who was a nurse. I remember her young sons friend was named Earl J.Waggedorn. Pretty good show. Lloyd Nolan was the Doctor she worked for. But it was still hard to believe a show could take place in North Carolina and not see one black person.

No actor of any race should be proud to be in such typical Marshall fluff.

Love is more important than sex. Now I understand.
