this season is too insane for me

I haven't watched the last two episodes yet because ep 3 was just too much.

Should I press on? Does it get more palatable?

At this point I am legit scared that this will stay with me, and not in a good way.

I really like this season but I'm the type that can't get enough scary/gory. I'm actually glad you posted here as I was unsure whether anyone was watching this season.

I think you should continue watching but that's just my humble opinion :-)

To me it feels like someone dumping the products of their extremely sick imagination on me. And that's considering that I *am* a horror fan in general.

reply

Most horror stories originate from products of people's imaginations, some just sicker than others.

Maybe this season isn't for you. There'll be others and hopefully you'll like them better.

So I absolutely loved this season. And the ending was not exactly as i guessed which is a cool thing. I felt so sorry for Alice at the end!!!!!!!! Also a question. What was up with the scene right before Alice was shown locked up. It showed the peach family house deserted except for the oldest lady talking to herself. So I thought everything was destroyed??? I will admit despite loving everything about this season I thought the way the peaches were killed was kind of lame.

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW!

I absolutely loved this season too and am glad that it for the most part had a decent ending. I was very happy for all four survivors and that they were free from the Peaches and their reign of terror in that community. I did feel sorry for Alice although she really totally went along with everything so technically she got what she deserved.

The old lady never came outside with the others so it looked like she was stuck in that house - wherever it was put - for eternity talking to herself.

The deaths at the end came sort of quickly which is probably why you think it was lame. I think, however, it would have been a more painful fate for Joseph Peach if he had been kept alive while all of his beloved family was killed. He was only alive for a few seconds, suffering emotionally, before he was killed.

I've enjoyed this show very much so far and am looking forward to Season 4.

What happened to Edie Peach? Last time we saw her on screen she was giving birth in the woods and she is not shown "exploding" like the rest of the Peaches. What was she giving birth to? Another "Smart Mouth"?

We also see "The Pestilent God" walking in the park just before the credits roll in (supposedly one year after the Peaches' death).

So... What happened to Edie Peach, the "thing" she gave birth to and "The Pestilent God"?

reply

I must have missed something what is a smart mouth. Also i assumed she gave birth to the little deformed children??? If not where did they come from?? I did not see the ending that was coming for Alice assumed both sisters would get out safely. I guess it's so sad what happened to her because before being brainwashed she was just a good person who wanted to help people. Anyway loved this season. I hope they continue this series.

Edie died giving birth. It showed an ocean of blood coming from her and then her body twitching, then stillness. If you watched it again you'd probably catch it - so much was going on it was easy to miss it :-)

I do think those deformed creatures were her children. As far as "smart mouth", I think the jacket with that ID label probably belonged to one of the children they stole and sacrificed.

Okay, so I did finish watching it and I don't know, I don't get this season. Who or what was that raw meat man? What's "the pestilent god" referred to above? I thought it was clear that the meat man was not the deity they were worshiping - the Peaches and the sisters didn't have to cover their eyes or anything in the former's presence, his power didn't overwhelm, no one's mind (apparently) was too fragile to behold him.

What does the meat man walking in the woods at the end signify? Looking for people to eat? Or to "convert"?

What exactly did that deity do to Alice?

Are there any remaining deformed dwarves? I don't remember them being outside with the Peaches awaiting their punishment.

Do we assume that the house still exists? Waiting for new inhabitants?

reply

I didn't really 100% understand the "meat man" walking around at the end either, although I took it that he was wandering, looking for the house, unable to find it. Perhaps he'll just die at some point(?)

The deity read Alice's mind, saw that the worst thing in the world to her would be to go insane, so he made her insane, unable to think or speak.

Some dwarfs were killed in the previous episode, along with Joseph's son and son-in-law at Louise's house. The remaining dwarfs were killed in the last episode.

My take is that the house is still around but not in the same place so not a danger to anyone anymore.

I took it that the ending was a happy one. But, of course, that's just my opinion.

reply

I don't remember now, but did they destroy the malevolent house in Season 2 or did it just move to some other location? Perhaps it's like that with this deity (and house) too - it promises a carefree life to whoever will do its bidding.

reply

In Season 2 the house wasn't destroyed but the leads got away so it was still a decent ending. Your theory of the house and staircase being moved sounds very plausible to me. I thought it was just in space or another universe but it's very possible that it was just moved elsewhere and waiting for some unsavory folks to do its bidding.

reply

I just assumed that Alice went insane because if you looked into its face it would make you go insane supposedly. I like your explanation better. It's ultimate evil so it's going to do shit like that. Her sister tried to warn her to get away from what I remember. Also..... I must have turned the channel too fast i did not see the meat creature at the end that people say they saw. Was this after credits because I thought I watched until credits came on.
