Are others noticing the different feel in the filming???

It almost looks to me like a 1970's movie look...??? I'm not even sure how to say what it looks like to me..
It isn't a complaint,only an observation..

Anyone else? What am I seeing that makes it feel so different.?

I think there's some purposely awkward framing going on. Lots of conversation scenes that use the rule of thirds, but instead of lining it up with more space in front of the actors, it's behind them. Representation of the void left by the dead brother in his past?

I agree, although while watching I thought, "Is this a Canadian production?". 

We've met before, haven't we?

Unlike most series, the same director worked on all the episodes, so he was just able to bring more of his style into play.

His movie The Boy shared a lot of the aesthetics with this.

What ever happened to the multi film deal that supposedly was planned for The Boy from
C.W. Macneill? I remember hearing there was going to be more, but I guess he can be waiting a certain amount of time for the kid to get a little older.
