Repost: Does anyone feel bad about Kayley, regardless of what she did?

Regardless of what she did, no one deserves to be forced into sex trafficking. I'm not sure what the sequel would have been made or not. I'm not sure what happens to her. My theory is she probably was killed during the seven months she was missing then was buried so no one could have find her or that she continues to be serve as a sex slave. I don't care what she did, she doesn't deserve it and I actually feel really bad at the end that the cops don't find her. I don't know what the message of the movie really is anyways. I actually felt really bad for her for what happened. What do you think about my theory?

I do and don't feel sorry for her she was the mastermind behind hurting people and even when she was kidnapped she didn't care what happened to the other girls lives. The meaning of this story don't play with people's minds cause there are crazy folks out there.

reply

Well that doesn't make any sense. Kayle may have been a bad girl for doing that stupid blog (I get it, it's a stupid blog and the girls admit they don't actually know John when they saw him at the airport), but none of this ever and ever justifies John from kidnapping her along with two other girls then INTEND to sold her into sex slavery. People do stupid pranks all the time and it's bad, but that doesn't mean she should be forced into sex slavery in return.

BTW, any anyone answer my theory question please?

being that this is just a life time movie i don't feel sorry for her.this movie actually has a very good message.DON'T mess with strangers.especially on-line.

Madman you're the one person who I agree with on this board. Don't treat people like crap and don't follow your peers in everything you do.

Honestly I think she probably ended up being killed. She was a feisty girl, and would probably fight anyone who tried to touch her. You see how she acted when she was tied up, vulnerable, and face to face with a guy with a gun. She didn't back down, or act scared, but cursed him and spit in his face. I believe she would keep the same attitude if she were tied to a bed about to be raped. Plus after all those months, I think she would have found a way to phone home if she were alive. I do feel bad about her fate...but at the same time, she caused a mentally ill guy to take his life. She didn't even have the decency to apologize to him when he told her how much that hurt him

She may have been killed depending on her sexual status in my opinion. Virgins can bring in extra (because pervs love taking the purity and knowing they're the first) so they might not be so quick to kill her but instead turn her into a drug addict giving her things that turn her into a vegetable being raped.

I would never apologize to a man who kidnapped me, no matter what I did to him. Yeah what Kaley did was not right and very insensitive but what John did was way worse. He could have recovered from the humiliation and led a normal life. There are way worse things to overcome than being catfished but what he was about to put those young girls though, I can't imagine anyone overcoming.
I can understand Kaley being disgusted by a guy like John. A guy who searches for a foreign bride, so she can be submissive because he has such an inferiority complex.

I did!! It was so messed up at the end how they never rescued her and she was lost in a world of sex trafficking !!! A bit harsh! The end of the movie almost made it seem like she deserved it !! How ridiculous

reply

I agree with madman58! I could not bring myself to care about this girl! She was b****! She messed with the wrong person. What they did was mean and cruel. They were young but they knew better. They felt like they were entitled!

Which also reminds me, Maddy was on the take with Kayley too, and yet she wasn't sold to sex traffickers. Avery never played along with it, though she has knowledge about their plans. Remember when Avery was uncomfortable with the plan when they went to the LAX airport and filmed John standing there waiting for his allege lover? And regardless, a harmless prank could never and ever compare to kidnapping THEN sold the person to sex traffickers. IMO, if that happens in real life, I would have been made and call the police about it or getting mad about being screwed and there is nothing I can do about it.

Originally, I always thought that he was about to seek some revenge on the girls by kidnapping them and torturing them, nothing else, at least I know how the plot describes. However, when they introduce the idea of sex trafficking, that was completely unexpected. Kayley was yelling and crying when the sex traffickers took her away, which garners me enough support to actually sympathize with her. Add to the fact that the detectives said they want to find another girl, but yet seven months later, she was missing, really boils my blood to the point I actually feel bad. She was a A-hole and always will be, but her being kidnapped and being a sex slave where she was drugged and raped 24/7 is one damn scary thought and went too far.

reply

I don't think she deserved THAT fate, not that all. But it was hard to find sympathy for her during the entire movie.

reply

Don’t get me wrong, I hated her, and I’m all for stupid young people facing consequences for their behavior, but I’m not so into those consequences being sex trafficking and girls being beaten and raped 24/7 by their pimps. Call me old-fashioned, because a harmless prank pretty much means you deserves to be treated as a sex slave and nothing else, which is just wrong and out of proportion.

reply

Kayley gets no sympathy from me. They brought this upon themselves.

reply

I didn't like Kaley but she doesn't deserved to sold to human traffic and being rape and beaten 24/7

YES!! Like, what the...IT IS SEX TRAFFICKING!!!

A sequel would be good, but to be realistic I guess no matter how much it's wanted, K can't be in it unless it's a flash to her life now...one of the few Lifetime movies where a sequel would be so good.

Oh, and yes, you definitely thought of a great theory. Wish we could get into writers' minds more.

reply

After watching it again I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought about a sequel. I wouldn't mind the sequel starting from the moments after she was taken and although in reality it's the hardest thing to successfully attempt, maybe she finds a way to escape and upon returning watch her cope with trying to be normal again, and the dynamics of her friendship with the girls play out after months, years separated with those necklaces being one of the few connections between them left.
