Watched the first three eps. Tell me why I should keep watching

It's a well made show, but after three episodes, I found my self despising the protagonists, (people in the woods,) and rooting for the antagonist, (the sherrif.) I can't stand the woods people. They're despicable, all of them and none of them seem to have redeeming qualities. Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me it gets better in that aspect.
