Did that bot have handguns?

In the preview, it looked like one bot had 2 handguns mounted to it. I'm assuming they are for decoration. I would be amazed if they were actually allowed to do that.

I didn't catch what you're talking about, but I assure you firearms are not allowed.

It does have handguns but apparently whatever it was firing was just show and mobius just spinner so hard it knocked its own part off. You'd think they would have discovered that during testing.

reply

Yea, that was weird. I looked down for less than a second and i looked up and saw it was already busted without having had any contact. Until he said the guns only shot blanks and it broke by itself, I thought it was dangerously stupid to allow guns

reply

Made it interesting though

One of the announcers called them 'special effects bullets.' I'm not sure exactly what what means, but they WERE firing projectiles that appeared to be rolled-up cylinders of tape or cloth.

If you look at the screw to the left as the spinner starts coming apart, you can see a strip of the material the 'bullets' are made from get pulled into the screw.

- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.

reply

I'll have to watch it again, didn't notice it

reply

there are NO PROJECTILES allowed... the guns has special effects flashpowder

reply

Take a look, where I mentioned. Then tell me they didn't fire 'fake' projectiles.

They should allow projectiles, it would make it ten times more entertaining.

reply

Yea, I noticed the broken part right away, but they certainly tried to edit that part out until the match recap. I just don't get how they didn't figure that out during testing.

I suspect that the Battlebots arena got pretty chewed up during earlier play and the makers of Mobius had only practiced on smooth, level ground. So, when it started spinning, it caught on the floor and broke apart.

This is the most damaged floor I've ever seen in use. Is that rubber? I thought the floor was metal. If there's a rubber topper, there are chunks all over the place. At least have a crew sweep between battles.

99.9999% sure its thich steel and yes they sweep between matches.

I'd have to watch it again to see what was on the floor.

It is thick steel plating. Yes indeed. Also, yes. They do sweep the inside between matches. They're not new at this robot fighting thing.

reply

It could be they tweaked something right before the match and it doesn't get tested fully. Maybe for this match they decided to take it to 11. :)

reply

I think that's what happened :)

reply

I looked at the fight again and it looked like a lot battery packs flying around and the cable ties that didn't have a chance holding them in. :)

I missed last week but saw the recap on Youtube. One of the comments said that bot was damaged in transit on the way to wherever they film this event at, and it's a miracle they got it fixed enough to participate at all. Don't know if that's true, but take it as you will.

reply

That's a shame, I don't know if that bot was any good but would have been nice to see it fight

reply

it fires blanks.
