Judge Jessica Chobot

I might be mistaken, but wasn't she a web video host who gained notoriety for licking a Sony PSP at a convention? I mean, shouldn't contestants expect judges who are authorities on robotics, veterans of past competitions, engineers, heck maybe retired boxers?

For all I can tell, it seems Chobot is present because her last name contains the word bot. Now, what do you want to bet that when it comes down to judges' decision, she's the one waving the woman card for Chomp and Mega Tento?

I think that's exactly why she got the job.

If someone names a bot Cho Bot, will she always vote fit it :)

This is not a situation where we need "celebrity" judges, leave that to beauty pageants. Not sure what the qualifications are for an expert judge in Battlebots but they should find it

Adam? Savage from myth busters should be a permanent judge. I imagine I'd stand by his choice 95% of the time. The guy likes destruction and knows enough about robots and such that I'd be comfortable with his decisions.

Grant can have a seat at the table any day.

Jamie Hyneman as well.

reply

I vote for Grant, that guy knows his robotics and he was a competitor himself so he knows the scene.

Actually, I'm comfortable with any of the mythbuster cast as a judge, but I haven't disagree with any of the current judges' decisions yet.

This judges' lineup looks especially weak if you compare it to the new Robot Wars series where all the judges are experts of robotics/engineering/...

And her female bias has been clear since the beginning. When there's a split decision and Faruq names who each judge voted for, she always sided with the woman.

reply

But robot wars is sooooooo boring.....

reply

That has nothing to do with the judges.

Oh, please...

reply

its a show with robots hitting each other you don't need to be an expert on robotics or mechanical engineering to judge it...
