I Sure Hope That Tonight's 2 Hour Finale Isn't A Bad Omen

I was surprised to see that tonight is a 2 hour finale. The ABC web page does say "Season" finale so I hope it will be back next summer.

It is likely that ABC is simply trying to wrap up summer programming to prepare for the fall season start but I do hope this is not a sign that ABC is totally done with Battlebots.

I don't think they are done with it, but I also don't think ABC won't be putting more effort into expanding it, either. The show gets about 3 million viewers per episode. Given the low production costs, this should make for profitable summer filler. I've seen other shows with higher production costs and lower ratings continue to last.

I think season 3 is a strong bet.

If you buy a ticket for a remake, you are the problem, not Hollywood.

The builders are asking everyone to go on Twitter and tweet for a season 3 but I don't have a Twitter account so I can't help with that.

ABC delayed the show to 1AM again to show a stupid preseason football game >:(
If Battlebots gets canceled hopefully another network picks it up and treats it well.

That sucks. I would say this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the two week hiatus from the Olympics. Hopefully that is true

I wouldn't worry too much. The last thing they said before they signed off was see you next year. It's not a guarantee but it sounds like they have plans to continue it at least.

The only bad omen about it was that.

Don't read ahead if you have yet to see it.

The last few fights weren't that great, so that maybe why they gave it two hours.

Crustacean, I caught that sign off as well. But, they taped that episode four months ago in April. If you look closely at the audience just before the final match, a Tombstone fan has a sign with an grave marker & obituary for Bomb Shell. The date on the obituary was 4-24-16 (or maybe 4-26-16). It was definitely late April.

But I will certainly hope for the best.

I think it's likely due to it getting a week behind one week because of news coverage. They were running a week behind and had to catch up.
