Couldn't we get any bonding moments or light banter w/Hiccstrid?

Hiccup and Astrid need some good bonding moments. It's not possible to develop a relationship without showing the development. By bonding moments I mean Astrid teaching Hiccup how to use a sword or Hiccup teaching Astrid to ride Toothless or make a weapon. Why can't they have them do something fun together? They've made Hiccup and Astrid too serious. I miss the light banter between them.

They are best friends, why can't they share a laugh together?

Agreed. If this is set one year before they end up engaged, there should be more interaction, and positive interaction at that. They are so constantly serious that I find it to be more the Toughnutt show.

These aren't the characters I fell in love with. If they weren't called Hiccup and Astrid, I wouldn't believe that is them. I'm so tired of Snotlout and the twins, too. They aren't funny anymore.

Other than the seriousness, I can't stand how flimsy and fickle Hiccup is. He is supposed to loyal to Astrid, I can't stand that this show tries to imply otherwise.

How does the show imply it otherwise? Well, maybe in the winter season, but now in the new summer season we have clear bonding and Hiccstrid moments.
