Female winner?

Think the girls are strong this season, hope one wins

Never know. I expected Mary Kate last season to do better. Would have thought a fire fighter would naturally be more careful, given her normal work environment. Seems like outside of injury, what makes for breaks these contestants is force of will. That breaking point seems to come out of nowhere.

I like Callie too, her hearth speech was funny and her shelter belongs in Architectural Digest. Very classy!

The "Tiki Lounge" does look nice. She said she wasn't going to move into the shelter until it was fully built. Later in the episode we see her complete the shelter and move in. Meaning, no further construction is necessary.

For the supplies used, the shelter was built too wide. That created a low pitch roof and not enough plastic extending past the debris walls. The rafters are spaced too far apart for their small size. And, all that green bamboo is going to eventually dry up. I wonder how the shelter will hold up after days of rain and later when snow starts to accumulate.

I think more needed to be done and maybe it will later in the season. Such as securing the entrance. Filling in the outside of the debris walls with ground cover. Strengthening the structure. After all, no matter how much wishful thinking, that's not Hawaii.

Callie is funny, and it doesn't hurt that she's kind of cute as well. I'd really like to see where she was sleeping before she got her "tiki hut" finished. Are we to believe she was sacking out in that chair? Surely she must have built some sort of temporary shelter that we haven't seen? Or did they show it and I just missed it somehow?

Could get a female winner, they've got a 3/8 chance right now.

Meanwhile, Greg's been lost for two weeks now lol. Think we should be concerned or calling for a rescue crew?

I'll happily volunteer to go down to find him. I've got my shelter and heating system all planned out and I'm dying for an excuse to buy a drawknife. :)

If you still have last weeks episode, they showed a piece of her temporary shelter at the beginning while she was describing her heating pot having a continual undertone flavor of fish or as she put it, "a-fish-a-tay". 

It looks to be a simple Lean-to with ground cover for the floor and a small hearth in front.

Fish a Tay and mossturpedic beds. There could be a whole line of wilderness products.

You're right, I remember that now.

Callie is my favorite so far, along with the self-professed "laziest wilderness survivalist" Dan.

Callie because she's very cute and has a great attitude and I'm in love with her.
Dan because being "lazy" will keep his caloric expenditure low, and force him to come up with clever ways to survive. If one thinks about it, it's the lazy people in the world who are the greatest innovators. "How can I do this easier/more efficiently/cheaper?"

I'm very lazy .

Callie has by far the best attitude so far. The others complain all the time( and for good reason) but she is always so happy and goes with the flow. Plus I am impressed with her skills. I think she has to be considered the front runner as of now. Lots could happen of course. Winter isn't there in full yet.
