Patagonia- the Good and the bad

Love the beautiful water -it looked so clean. I 'grew up' near the Atlantic ocean. At that time I could walk into the water, and in between waves, you could see your feet at the bottom. Not now. Too many people peeing in the water, families allowing their diapered babies access to the water. What are they thinking?

Love the bamboo. Everybody knows what a perfect medium it is for a long-term camper or bush person.
The terrain looks difficult. Did some people get a better camp site than others?
The scenery looks breathtaking.

The Pumas - I'd like to hear input about how safe it is living around them. Can't they attack from the tops of trees?
The boars - ? ?

The campsite differentials might be deceptive. It's prettier close to water but windier and colder too. A huge deadfall to use for a shelter makes up for the steep climb. That and look at all that free firewood.

I feel sorry for the pumas. All these people coming in and peeing in their territory, it must be quite unnerving for them.

pumas probably wont be out in daylight, they come out after dark.
So the danger would be mainly at night.
This place is rugged, the one guy gets lost in woods ep 2.
he wasnt paying attention or marking his path.

Out there best to mark your path so you dont get lost.

I'm not worried about the guy who is lost. I think it's just some editing for drama. There's lots of ways for the guy to get his bearings and get back to camp.

Agree with that, I don't think it's a big deal at all. He probably just got momentarily turned around.

I too agree that it is no big deal and was only presented that way as a means to go from one episode to the next.

Dude: I'm lost.

Dude's brain: Why not start by walking down the hill.

Dude: I think I'll start by walking down the hill.

Walk down the hill. Yep, that's one good way to find yourself. It will most likely take you to a stream or the lake's edge.

I think 2 of them were dropped off near puma killing zones. Idk if pumas eat their food in one spot, but if so, a big advantage is to not be near a puma kill zone lol. If they just happened to eat their prey there, then maybe not so much an advantage. But it has to play tricks on the mind if you see a skeleton 50 yards from your camp.

Especially if you feel yourself getting weaker and weaker.... Just knowing a puma is in a nearby tree waiting to come in and finish you off!

On the other hand if they could find a fresh kill they could boil the bones and get some protein.
