I feel bad for Dave but he NEEDED to be sent home. His plan didn't work. I wondered if he could come back from the point he had reached but apparently the doctor didn't think so. I wonder how much of his rationing was a carefully conceived plan or a psychological side effect of starving: needing to know he had food at his disposal for the future.

They did mention "food-hoarding" as a sign of malnutrition. But yeah, sad as it was, he needed to go.

Last week I began wondering if he COULD come back, even if he ate all the food he'd planned to ration. But then again, last week's episode was just a couple days earlier than tonight's.
