Is Stan Lee running out of ideas?

He's got Black Cat's powers, but good, instead of bad.

reply

It's not the first time powers have been repeated, it's the story that makes it work. I enjoyed the pilot, though I hope it begins to develop a bit more.

The guy is 92 years old. If he has, which I don't think he has, so what? Watch or don't watch.

reply

hmm... generic superhero show #91012310912039103910391209310301901...

I think I'll go with... "don't watch"...

reply

It's very much a cop show rather than a superhero one.

reply

Yeh, don't come on here criticising.
This forum is only for fan boys who question nothing.

Mmmmmokay.......

if I seem a little strange, that's because I am.......

Powers originality is irrelevant. What matters is the character that uses the powers.

What makes you say he's senile and suffering from dementia. As long as we're making unfounded claims. DonnaCreate, how is your long suffering trauma going do to you having spent the first 9 months of you life dodging a coat hanger?

reply

What a stupid thing to say about Stan Lee. There are people in Hollywood right now that are a quarter of his age that can't come up with original stories or powers for superheroes or just movies in general.

There is a reason why the #1 current blockbuster is just a rehash of the original movie.

reply

What an obnoxious comment. I hope people afford you the same respect when you get to be 93. Assuming you get there. I'm sure your current TV series is much better, you should mention what it is so we can all watch it.

reply

M'kay.

I'd say Longshot as this IS his power but if you want to go with a less than correct example then sure. "Hey that guy is flying, basically just like Hulk only he jumps".

reply

Every writer always romances about writing the classic characters that they read about and loved when they were a kid. The fallen detective, the space cowboy, the witty adventurer etc. They tend not to though because they come off as unoriginal, and tend to get called out by guys like yourself. Once you're an established writer like stan lee, you can go back and write those stories just because you can.

reply

More like people are just taking his older ideas, running with them, and he allows his name to be attached to whatever it turns out to be because money.

reply

there's not several hundred movies and TV shows about having luck as a power..like...

Vampires...

Zombies..

Fairy Tale Characters...

CSI-everything

Medical Shows...

Cooking shows..

World's whatever shows...

So no..a non-costumed Private Eye who has a ying/yang power is kind of original.

reply

He's not a private eye. He's a police detective. I agree though. It's a fairly original concept and it's quite well made.
