Rank the XL participants.....

I hated in the end how they only rated the PSR's of the "groups" instead of the individuals. So I decided to do it myself only know what I saw and have read from both the participants themselves and others.

I used three (3) criteria to decide - physical, social, emotional survival skills

1. Jeff - obvious leader and decision maker, hunter, and never lost faith
2. EJ - obvious #2, great ethics, but Jeff carried him at times
3. Chris - led the group of 6 and thrived for the first 20 days
4. Laura - OK she got a caiman and was always working/hunting
5. Eva - solid and was socially the most adept working with others
6. Luke - OK he made it barely another day and he was toast
7. Shane - tapped, but carried Alana/Danielle for weeks and super work ethic
8. Dani - tapped, but simply for surviving on her own for 10 days
9. Hakim - tapped, due to injury but gets ranked ahead of the 3 trolls
10. Danielle - did she actually do anything except gather nuts and complain?
11. Alana - let everyone do the work and simply sat on her lazy ass whining
12. Honora - WOW what can you say about Honorrhea that hasn't be said

Oh behold the warrior who does not respect his enemy - Sun Tzu

I would have a slightly different criteria. I'd give negative points for causing drama for no good reason, and attacking others without cause.

1 Jeff
2 EJ
3 Dani Julien - the strongest female by far, attacked and driven out of the challenge for no reason.

big drop off to
4.Luke
5 Laura
6 Shane
7 Chris
8 Hakim

pretty much worthless
Eva
Veg Dani

Toxic malignancies
Alana
Honora

I pretty much agree with your list Chas.

Dani was driven out by the clique.

How does one rank any of the participants on a show so heavily manipulated by the producers? None of them rank very high due to submitting themselves to the producers mercy. Even if one indulges in the fantasy presented, the marks aren't that high considering the lush location provided.

You have to have 1 hero, right? What better candidate for that script than the good Christian Jeff. Who's going to offer the most excitement with a kill? Crazy eyed screamer Jeff is elected for the role. A leader? Not really. He shunned the large group to avoid leading and conflict. He doesn't offer Dani a spot with he and EJ like he did with Shane. Why? The script was written for her to tap out. He treats his former 21 day partner Eva mostly like a stranger? Come on..

What did EJ really do? He was merely Jeff's adopted son for the series. He also shuns his former 21 day partner.

In 40 days, Chris, the commercial fisherman, doesn't have the ingenuity or even the desire to build a fish trap. OK. Why is he never shown to offer Jeff help before a kill? They can't allow anyone to steal the hero's thunder.

Badazz Eva, allows herself to be reduced to trouble making drama queen with Alana and Danielle. Any role for money I guess.

Luke, the non counselling counselor. LOL Pitiful.

Dani was only a sacrificial lamb. The great tragedy. The producers simply wanted to get people riled. She performed her role as good as anyone.

Honora explodes and Hakim cries. Both are hoping for Emmy nominations.

No shelter built by the large group until it rains? LOL. Instead of making traps and snares, they simply wait for squirrels to fall dead out of the trees.

The script was quite comical at times. Tune in Sunday for Keeping Up With The Survivians.

Jeff-8.5
EJ-8.5
Chris-8
Eva-8
Laura-8
Luke-8

Danielle-7
Alana-7
Shane-7
Dani-6.5
Honora-6
Hakim-5

Ratings are based on the criteria categories. Noone was a 10 IMO, but 8-8.5 is very good and elite. Obviously, the most important factor was making it through the forty days. There's no excuses for tapping out- finding a way to hang in there and make it is crucial. I know Dani was forced out in a way, but still, she could have pleaded and begged with Jeff and EJ. Anyone who didn't make it the distance has to lose points. It's about surviving the entire time in the end. The mean girls were unlikable and horrible, but unfortunately that's part of survival. That said, I did like Dani better and felt bad for her and Shane. They were better in terms of likability. If only they had made it to the final.

Ratings are based on the criteria categories.
Please name one person on this "panel of experts" responsible for creating the criteria and what their qualifications are as a judge. It's a silly prop for the show.

I believe the only panel of experts they'll have will be local tour guides that prevent them from doing something monumentally stupid. How can anyone believe that these people are simply dropped off into a location a million miles from home without any help from locals? It's my guess Danielle couldn't distinguish a cashew tree from a rose bush prior to the show, much less that they were even present in the area. After that, they had to tell her how to properly process them without harming herself or even others in camp.

I would have rather seen how Danielle managed that over the childish squabbling they offered instead...

Urushiol is the same chemical found in poison ivy, and it is present on the leaves of the cashew tree as well as in the raw cashew shell. Processing raw cashews can be a laborious and nightmarish ordeal, and people who work in cashew processing plants tend to exhibit greater allergies to cashew shells over time. There is a high incidence of skin rashes among people who either harvest or process raw cashews. Greater sensitivity to urushiol can lead to extreme allergic reaction when raw cashews are ingested, and anyone allergic to poison ivy could potentially have a fatal reaction to eating true raw cashews.

Cashew shell oil extracted from the shells is caustic and causes burns on the skin. The mucous membranes of the mouth and throat are severely affected when it comes into contact with shell oil or the irritating fumes emitted during roasting.

They should have shown Danielle screaming and celebrating after a successful cashew roasting. I seriously doubt she had to endure the process at all.

Great reply dude! You made exactly the point I was looking for. Because when you start thinking this show absolutely falls to pieces.

First thought you shouldn't have when you want to enjoy this show is; who made this? Second; this is television, Third; this is American television.

I think the third point is most important. Because it seems to me that the US media think Americans won't watch something interesting but only something exiting. Which I hope isn't true... But when I watch "some" channels' programming these days. All I see is producers who push desperate sad people to do more and more stupid, useless and rediculous crap for the sake of making bargain basement television.

I think this is one of the reasons people think Americans are idiots. Because this contrived antagonistic *beep* is like a blueprint for all of the sheit programmes that are supposedly about their lives...
