Ugh poor Jake. I got Bell's palsy back in middle school, let me tell you, kids are not the kindest when it comes to that sort of thing.

7-8 years later I have recovered most of the use of my face, although I still have trouble closing my left eye occasionally to sleep. People who know constantly try to reassure me that they don't notice. I still avoid photos because I can see where my face isn't perfectly symmetrical like it should be. I still get horrible twitching of the nerves on my eyelids and the left side of my nose. I have been told that it will never get any better than it is already, but that they could offer Botox shots to make the twitching go away.

I really hope Jake heals fast, the faster he gets control of his muscles back the better chance of recovery he has. He is entirely too handsome to have this happen to him. I hope it wasn't caused by the ticks in Africa, because I know ticks and the herpes virus can both be possible causes. I would be furious with the show if I were him and it was caused by ticks, although they obviously couldn't have done anything.

Bell's palsy is a bitch, if Jake really is ill, I hope he can recover and be as comfortable as possible!

He didn't have Bell's Palsy.

In his interviews he was fine (maybe a couple months after), and he was talking about having facial paralysis, and then showed the video, which was filmed shortly after returning to "normal" life.

Did you click on the medical definition of Bell's Palsy?

It IS A FACIAL PARALYSIS of half of the face.

I'm guessing clicking the link (and actually learning about Bell's Palsy) would be far too taxing on windquake. In the Age of Information, ignorance is a choice...

Thank you so much. Bell's Palsy can be caused by a virus. Ticks?

So is being an asshat, Stigger.

I did read the link. I was thinking that the recovery time was too quick for him to go from Bell's Palsy to full recovering. But I suppose the video of his paralysis and his "normal" video could have been months.

There's no need to get salty just because you're too stupid to research/understand the topic.
