Are the supernatural things supposed to be real?

So far we saw

1. the floating Hawk
2. the burning mark from the lightning
3. signs/symbols/visions (dying stephen etc)

What do you think? Is it really happening?

reply

1. Who knows! I think though that after a few days of hardly eating and them smoking pot etc, well maybe he very much did feel like he was floating. Maybe he wanted to believe it, so he felt it.

2. Yes that was real, he did get struck by lightning, together with Steve, who fell off the cliff.

3. Yes I think that most are 'real' in the sense that they are 'visions' or 'warnings'.

I was definitely wondering about the "floating Hawk" part myself. Everything about the way the scene was filmed suggested that it was actually happening, but they never actually come back to that moment to explain it in any way. In fact, other than him mentioning it to his dad, the scene had never come up again.

I wonder if they're eventually going to address it or if it's just going to end up being this weird moment in the story that never has an explanation.

We are seeing it as the people involved are experiencing it.

Unfortunately, too many have happened to say they're not. Shame, really. I preferred the show in season 1 when it was about a cult. Now it's about love triangles and daddy issues and magic.

I don't mind fantasy and sci-fi. In fact I love it. But when the show is about people being manipulated by their belief in the supernatural, it's just better when it's not real. Otherwise, it kinda justifies all that's being done in its name.
