I think Olivia Colman as the new Elizabeth is ok. Claire Foy was too pretty and cute for the role.
Helena Bonham Carter as Margaret seems really off.
Tobias Menzies is barely older than Matt Smith as Philip. I guess at this point they just wanted a whole new cast.
The actress who originally played Margaret was very sexy, and H.B. Carter is decidedly not. That was a disappointment, but she grew on me as the episodes progressed. I thought she was quite good in the one with the retarded cousins.
shareI just started watching the show this weekend. I am starting season 3 either tonight or in a few days (it was a long binge and need a break). I do like HBG but was surprised she's taking over the roll of Margaret. I am interested to see how she does. I'm hoping the whole cast changing isn't too much of a shock for me. I haven't had to spend the amount of time other people have had to get used to people. I really enjoyed the cast in seasons 1 and 2 and am sad they are changing. However, I can't wait to see Jonathan Pryce as Phillip when Season 5 is out.
