Do you guys wanna see more shorter horror movies?

I actually liked the length, not because the movie was bad but that it was fully contained and didn't drag for a second.

I agree that shorter lengths are preferable for horrors. Too many try to drag it out nowadays in order to flesh out characters more and hit that two-hour mark. Sometimes when I'm watching an older movie, especially of the horror genre, I'll find myself thinking "That one-minute bit would turn into a twenty-minute flashback if it were remade today."

reply

Exactly, it's all about quality when fleshing out character much more than quantitiy.

Same thing with comedies. This is 40 had no business being around 2 in half hours long. That was insane. Somewhere in there was probably a solid 95 minute comedy.

reply

Agree. It felt like just the right length to be honest.

No; I'd like to see more that are skillfully executed and rich in content. Stay Alive was equipped with a concise runtime and yet it was lousy.

IMO one of the best things about the movie was it's refreshingly short run-time compared to other full-length horror movies which can seem to drag-on after awhile. For example, the horror movie Hush definately suffers from being needslessly stretched-out to full-length when it would have been much better as a shorter movie, possibly even shorter than Lights Outs.

Anyhow, definately think more horror movies should be shorter (and tighter) rather than an interesting concept or story being stretched-out and bloated with filler just to make it full-length.
