Oh man its bad ..........

real bad - I am glad I only paid $4.75 for the movie ticket. No real story or even much plot.

reply

There was a real story.... Stupid *beep*

reply

A ridiculous, horribly executed story that led to myself, my wife, and a few other couples in the theater to walk out. I don't normally walk out of movies, but this was atrocious. Objectively, this movie was terrible. There's no arguing over the acting, terrible pacing, terrible script, etc. There are much better ways to spend your money. Concept was cool, but beyond that, you have very low standards for believing this film was any good.

reply

That's anything but an objective opinion

reply

Just like many people struggle with the difference between "literally" and "figuratively," it seems a lot of folks don't really know the definitions of "objective" vs "subjective" and just throw "objective" in because they see it a lot and ironically think it adds some sort of punch to their opinions.

Movies are IQ tests; the IMDB boards are how people broadcast their score.

reply

It seems this guy doesn't really know much about anything.

"Myself, my wife, and a few other people I saw" is a big enough sample population!

"There's no arguing over the acting... etc." -- sure there isn't!

"Objectively" doesn't mean what he thinks it means!

"Its/It's"!

What an amazing post.

reply

What is wrong with you?? IT is a HORROR MOVIE as as horror movies go it was quite well done.

Stay away from them if you're too stupid to follow them.

reply

LOLLLLL okay Bazookabob; anyone who walks out before a movie finishes doesn't get to share their "opinion" about it's story. as you haven't seen all of it.

idiot.

reply

well maybe his biggest pop culture influence is not the comic that comes wrapped around a piece of gum!

I would say my memory is not what it used to be. But I don't remember what my memory used to be.

reply

Please give us an example of sensible well executed horror movie that wouldn't lead yourself, your wife and a few other couples in the theater to walk out. Did any single people, or trios of people to walk out with yourself? Who are you trolling and lying for?

reply

So now you know. You have very low standards. Lol

reply

Well that is your opinion which ur entitled to. I personally disagree and thought it was well done for a horror flick.

reply

Agree - not good at all!

reply

Ahhh IMBD forums, where the insecure go to get validation of their opinions.

reply

This board is giving me a headache with the "excellent horror movie" then "oh man its bad" I will see and judge for myself. Here's hoping I like it.

reply

With the IMDB forums just go somewhere in between. I enjoyed it. It was not bad but it was not excellent. Quite a few things where not explained but it was only 1hour 20.

reply

i have officially given up on watching a good horror movie again, maybe some other country can come up with one because Hollywood sure wont 4/10

so many movies, so little time

reply

And a person like you can actually read subtitles?

reply

I paid around 13 dollars to see it--prices in norway are very high--I paid around 17 dollars to see the New Independence Day

Well, that is your own fault!

I would say my memory is not what it used to be. But I don't remember what my memory used to be.

What did you expect from a PG-13 horror film?

reply

Rating doesn't matter. The Others,The Sixth Sense and Insidious are all PG-13 and they were better than this, IMO. Even The Babadook, which is unrated, is a lot better than this.

I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves.

reply

Good points, but just so you know, some people view a movie that's not rated as a good or intriguing thing. Think about it, there's an unknown element when there's no rating, so some people naturally become more curious about it. Anyhow, the more comments I read here, the less enthusiastic I feel about watching this movie. Hell, I might watch "Nerve" instead. Both have their criticisms, but "Nerve" has a slightly higher rating.

reply

Since when does a horror movie have to have every scene drenched in blood and guts and full of f-bombs? Only in your pubescent mind. You confuse horror with gross-out. Throughout motion picture history creative directors have been able to make horror/thrillers with little or no gore, and without everyone and his/her grandma using the f-word. Directors that have to stoop to that level are targeting a specific backwards, immature and/or trashy segment of society.

reply

Horror with no gore is like a Comedy with no jokes...

Honestly it was one of the best ive seen in a long time. This movie actually had some suspense and story was pretty good.
Movies like Insidious (1-3), the first Conjuring, that *beep* movie It Follows, and all recent horror movies have really sucked. There have only been a few movies in recent times that have actually got me with suspense, and im pretty tough when it comes to horror movies because i was basically raised off them.
This has to be in my top 10 of horror movies from the 2010's so far, possibly top 5.

reply

While I agree that It Follows is nothing more than decent, The Conjuring is a solid horror movie. I'd even give it a 8/10.

reply

I loved "It Follows". The premise was intriguing and the lead actress did a decent job. I loved The Conjuring, but found it's sequel to be strangely, funny! I loved the first insidious movie. So was Sinister. This one was okay. But none of these moves scared me to be honest. It's been awhile since a hollywood horror movie made me shudder in horror. I think I am getting desensitized. Now I just treat them like thrillers. As long as it's a decent, sensible story which requires minimal suspension of disbelief and has atleast one character who manages to make me emotinally invest in them, I enjoy it.
