Unlikeable female lead

Like with Ouija Board and the Monster, it seems female only horror has been the name of the game in 2016.

Could be good or it could be ugly like this one.

First of all the vocal fry of the female lead is extremely annoying, second the condescending, arrogant, outright rude behavior of the younger female lead is just unpleasent.

1/10 will not watch again.

Thank god a man is here to tell us what female horror leads should be like ?

I disliked her initially because of the way her "no close relationship" shtick was so comically exaggerated, but then she kinda grew on me, especially when the movie showed a bit more of her mother.

I had the same initial reaction as you. Then, I saw her Sevendust and Slayer posters. She's the kinda girl I would have been attracted to in high school. :P But seriously, she annoyed me at first but then grew on me as the movie progressed, when I began to see her as an understandably angry young girl with family problems, but who still cares about her brother and is quite intelligent and strong for someone being attacked by a supernatural entity.

To be fair (and I do think this movie is over-rated), the storyline gives us plenty of reasons wh Bec behaves as she does, particularly in relation to her mother. And quite frankly, I can't say I blame her. 🐭
