Was the little shark that came out of Meg's mouth at the end supposed to be a baby Meg?

It was a "regular" shark from the bunch that were eating the Meg at the end, it ate its way through The Meg and came out the mouth

But given the money this movie has made so far I think a sequel is to be expected - who knows what else lurks beneath the thermocline da-da-DA!

i'm thinking they can always say "more than 2 megs escaped through the opening etc" for the sequel. why not?
