Where are the reviews??

Didn't it come out in Canada today?? Hasn't it been in a few film festivals?
Really hoping it's good.

That's what I've been wondering. No Twitter reactions, no reviews, just nothing. Also I can't find any info about if Woody or Jennifer - two of my favorite performers - attended the premiere or not.

Apparently it will premiere at Toronto on September the 15th. The screening on the 9th was cancelled. It's also scheduled to open the New Orleans Film Festival on October 12th.

I see. Thank you for informing.

First reviews from Variety, Guardian and Hollywood Reporter. They are mixed though Woody's getting very good reviews and in this weak year in the Best Actor category, he might be in with a shot. Most films shown at Festivals like Toronto don't get a lot of reviews until just before the film is supposed to come out. No release date set yet for LBJ.

Thank you for sharing. JJL having such a limited screen time is surely disappointing but I'm still looking forward to the film. I hope it'll get a release this year and Woody would campaign. His buddy and occasional co-star Matthew McConaughey also have "Gold" upcoming. It would be cool if both of them would get a nom.

It played at TIFF, there was 3 screenings so anywhere from 500 people or so per screening saw it, so not that many people.

It's pretty by the numbers 60s era / JFK-related political biopic.. which was exactly what I expected from Rob Reiner. The standard Dealy Plaza / Parkland Hospital scene, jealously over the Kennedy's and not being loved by the people, feuding with Bobby Kennedy, evil southern racists, etc. Nothing we haven't seen many times already in JFK, Nixon, Thirteen Days, The Kennedy's, Parkland, etc. Didn?t show anything about LBJ's 64-68 term, everything was centered around him losing the nomination to JFK, being his VP, and taking over after the assassination.

Woody was good, but honestly, I found the makeup he was wearing to make him look older and like LBJ distracting. JFK & Bobby actors were good.. but they usually are in Kennedy-related films and series.

Worth a watch, but like I said, if you've watched lots of Kennedy stuff, nothing new here.

I read Jennifer Jason Leigh isn't in it that much. Was she good?
