I can't believe she let her friend be the decoy-very dangerous and she had had the evidence in her hand? ew-she is definitely a ride or die friend!

reply

I'm pretty sure the "evidence" is the blood she scratched from his neck and not what we initially thought.

reply

yeah but she was cupping her hand-did u see blood. I hope that is what it was :)

But there is a message in that and in the depiction of the general uselessness of the police/legal system in America today when it comes to protecting the common citizen (which isn't actually their job). After she was disabused of the notion that the police were interested in solving her case, she felt more in common ("bonded") with Juan and could empathize with his behavior, after seeing that even as a white woman with a nominally higher social status, she was still disserved by the police and would have no chance of obtaining justice without having to resort to solving the crime herself (and doing so is an innately dangerous proposition, particularly when it comes to crimes of violence such as rape).

reply

Excellent point.

Can I just say that I wanted Juan and his buddy to *beep* up those two men.

Disappointing. I wanted to see them kick azz.

Creasy: Okay, my friend. It's off to the next life for you. I guarantee you, you won't be lonely..

Thanks - I know what you mean, and in reality a sharp lawyer like him would probably still wind up avoiding doing his time or getting a vastly reduced sentence.

Very good acting from Danielle Savre. Although the second twist with the baby mask at the end was unnesccary, could easily have worked had it turned out to be the motel receptionist.
