Bad Rap

This movie gives Uber a bad rap.

Lol I was going to get an uber tomorrow but this is a fear I have, now it's a movie. There have been a few cases of uber drivers attacking their passengers. They don't have to go through all the checks out taxi drivers. I'll stick to taxis.

Don't you mean "Netcar?" 😏

IT SHOULD

Never going to use Uber or Lyft. I'll take my chances in a Taxi, thank you.

Creasy: Okay, my friend. It's off to the next life for you. I guarantee you, you won't be lonely..

Well the scenario in this movie has happened out her in Los Angeles. Woman kidnapped and raped by man pretending to be an uber driver. I don't think it gives uber a bad name, if anything maybe people will be more cautious and uber will put in more security measures.

Uber gives itself a bad rap, and a bad rep.

Recently in Austin TX, Uber was asked to require background checks for their drivers that included finger printing. They refused and were told they would have to leave, and then there was a proposition created to let them do business without background checks. Uber launched a very expensive campaign that included color printed glossy cardboard mailers, tv commercials and aggressive door-to-door solicitors, all the while ironically claiming that finger printing was too expensive for them to enforce. Their proposition was voted down, and they had to leave Austin.

I understand that assault can happen in any scenario, including taxi service. Safety is never 100% guaranteed. But if I need a ride, I won't risk a sex offender or other violent criminal driving me to the airport. I'll take better odds than Uber and choose a service that at least requires fingerprinting.
