Is Paige supposed to be likeable in this?

I think she has as many "issues" as the snooty mother. Don't know why Dylan fell in love ~ that's a stretch for me....

What was so bad about her? A little type A-ish..and the way she dropped her fiancé in front of his parents was pretty unforgivable..but other than that I thought she was pretty decent. I liked her story about how growing up it was just her and her mom and they'd watch the tree lighting on TV. Plus she tried very hard to get to her fiancé's parents house on time and she tried to remain faithful to her fiance. I don't think she was evil or anything.

Her fiancee's parents weren't great. They were pretty snooty and uptight. I might of eventually done the same thing.

I know right. Paige did the right thing. She was about to marry the wrong guy.

I just found her to be very annoying - "I can't do this," "I shouldn't" etc. - which was part of their courtship and all that negativity doesn't happen in other HM movies. I'm not sure at all how he fell in love with her ??? (Because I missed it!)

reply

Well she was about to marry the wrong guy.

I agree. I'm a fan of Candace Cameron Bure, but I didn't think she was at all likable in this movie. Her character was way too self involved. I didn't think they had any chemistry either. The whole thing was just off for me.

Thank you, you stated it far better than I did!

I don't think she was supposed to be entirely likable. I believe she was meant to be a little annoying and self absorded until she discovered her "true" soulmate.
