Thank you! Those plants did not look like tobacco at all. It has driven me crazy wanting to know what was used. They looked artificial.

Didnt look like the tobacco we used to grow around the area and I live 60 miles northeast of the area. Everyone I knew from childhood up (am 54 years old) grew burley tobacco. The tobacco in the film looked more like the flue cured seen in eastern parts of north carolina and virginia. The scenes with it hanging int the barn looked more like it and also noticed a tobacco basket being tossed around in one scene. Did notice they were in a hurry to grade it when it was raining.
