Reaching back to 1970s TV: In the pilot episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant (Ed Asner) says to Mary Richards (Moore): "You know what you've got, Mary? You've got spunk. I hate spunk!" This film is a great example of the reasons to hate TV spunk. Someone should drill a hole in this movie and let the sap run out.
shareMy sentiments exactly! I am a fan of Dolly, but this little film was awful. Melodramatic to the point of being comical. Shocked by the 8.4 rating. I think there's saccharine dripping from my TV.
sharenicely put! lol! a lot of sap. I guess it's fine for 6 year old girls (I'm kinda sure that is the intended audience), but everyone else should leave the room and go listen to Dolly and Porter records in the next room.
