Why??

That is pretty much what I've been suspecting for the last several years myself lol. The first cop film was cheesy, but it was also cute & funny and for the most part I enjoyed it. I'm not sure what to make of this however. It might be alright & certainly sounds like a much better retro film made current than Twins 2. I'm already dreading that film & completely hated the first.

So far Hollywood has made some incredibly bad remakes: Red Dawn, Point Break (I'm sorry but you really can't top Patrick Swayze even now) I didn't bother to see the Total Recall remake being that I didn't think too much of the first one, but there are a lot of folks who think that the latest Terminator installment just fell flat on it's face. Being a big fan of the made for TV film Into thin air:Death on Everest, the film Everest was just rotten by comparison.

There have been a few modern films I thought were very well done: In the Heart of the Ocean was very decent & I loved The Martian with Matt Damon though I couldn't finish Interstellar it was not my thing. I did think Gravity was a great film however.
