No, it doesn't. It's been a long time since I saw the original, but nothing about the sequel made want to go back and watch the first one.
shareThey should have titled this "Another Kindergarten Cop" because it has absolutely nothing to do with the first one. It's a borderline remake but it's not as bad as all the haters are saying. If you like Dolph, it's not so bad. I thought it was ok.
shareThe problem for me with this movie is that the first movie it made perfect sense that they need to go undercover. This movie, it seems far too contrived that they need to go undercover just to find a flash drive.
The whole idea that a Kindergarten teacher would have the forethought to hide the information about its whereabouts in such a convoluted manner? Or in fact at all? I don't buy it.
The kids are incredibly wooden (something I never felt in the first movie), the adult actors aren't exactly fantastic either (definitely not a problem in the first movie). I never really felt any chemistry between them.
Then to add insult to injury, the conclusion of the movie decides to throw all self-respect to the wind by having the kids attack the bad guys. Like any sane human being, let alone an FBI agent, would risk kids getting shot.
