Nice to see that Indian tv series are getting famous. I know that many Indian movies are overrated just because fans get excited even after a little awesomeness they watch in hindi movies. Here, I can see that top voters rated just 4.0/10. If this continues, some shows or movies would really be awesome and people won't believe the ratings. Regional movies are way good, for example.

sharePeople are finite. So, I'm sure the number of directors is not countless even though you've tried to use it as a phrase but then again, I do not know till what number you're able to count. Also, I don't know who you're referring to as 'top' voters. The influence on Hollywood directors isn't really some kind of benchmark for a film being good or bad. There are films that have *beep* ratings but I'd still decide for myself if I liked it or not. I personally like Satyajit Ray's films, the ones that I've seen at least.
IMO, what this is, really, is patriotism clouding the judgement of hordes of Indians probably gloating over how they've succeeded in bringing TVF Pitchers to the top 25 or whatever of the imdb charts. It's a good show but is it really that good? Does it bite into your subconscious and question things on a much larger level? Not for me.

shareIndian movies and tv are not bad, but they are so different from US and Europe film making. But furtermore I won't rate the good ones (3 Idiots) 8 or higher.
Last time I checked the "top rated tv" it was about 5 indian tv-shows, now there at least 10 of them. Is sad to score them with 1 point to eliminate them from watchlist, because maybe few of them are actually good but I never know because they are overflowing in here. And some plots are s* (like "Permanent Roomate).
