How did I become a woman in the game???

I just got the game and in the beginning, it asks you to customize the appearance of both the husband and the wife, while they're in front of the mirror. So, I did, one at a time.

Then, the story kicks in, and somehow, it was deemed that I was the woman. I do not at all remember "choosing" to play as the woman.

Is this randomly generated or was it a subtle choice I made that I somehow overlooked?

you are parent who you have standing infront of the mirror before starting

Ok, thanks. It wasn't made clear. They're both there in front of the mirror and it seems like you can customize both of their appearances. Don't recall it directly asking who you want to play as.

Sorry, but I find this very funny. That opening scene you are essentially selecting man/woman first then customizing whichever you choose to play as. I went back and looked and it is definitely appears that you are selecting the gender of your character.

It IS funny, I agree, but the game does not at all make it clear. Both characters are in front of the mirror and choosing to "customize" one character does not close off the other character. So, you think you are merely customizing the appearance of both the husband and wife in the game. I have been a gamer for 30+ years and this is the first time I was "stuck" with a character I didn't obviously choose, out of the blue. All the commercials show a man next to a dog during the gameplay, so I just assumed that would be the outcome for my experience.

Mind you, I'm not "complaining" that I turned out to be a woman in the game but it came as a big surprise.

No man look at it this way: you're a woman, get the perk that does 10% extra damage to the opposite sex. Since most enemies are male, they are 10% easier.

Or my isn't name...

Wasn't aware of this. I'll take it.
