Things that bothered me about the movie

No Jodie Sweetin mother. Seriously it would've been so easy for them to hire a third blonde woman to just stand there with the other two. She even could've been a featured extra! Just someone to represent Jodie's mother.

The Olsens were there to audition, not to go to the park afterwards with friends who were there to audition. They said their mother did it reluctantly, but nevertheless she did it--she took them to audition. Also, they were held by the director and didn't cry. That's how they got cast. That's it. That makes a better story than what they showed anyhow.

John Stamos didn't innocently "run into" Rebecca backstage. He saw her in a magazine, became obsessed with her, found out her name and by his own admission, stalked her --I think to a different country if I remember correctly, and staged/arranged an introduction. Again, this is another example of real life being MORE compelling, interesting and better suited for a storyline than what the movie depicted.

The complete lack of focus on Lori Loughlin. I know that Hollywood is a man's game and the women are peripheral, but come on Lifetime-- of all networks we expect more of you. She's still an interesting person.

Why did they have the scene with the stressed out Olsen mother be between Coulier and Jarnie? That scene did take place, but it was between her and the producers directly. No middle man... Did the actor who played Coulier negotiate a certain number of lines or something???

The story goes that Dave Coulier did introduce Candace to Bure with the intention of it being a set up.

This isn't an error, it's actually true, which is what bothers me, but the way they replaced Posey was despicable. On the "Behind the Headlines" documentary that followed the premiere of the unauthorized movie, Franklin defended his actions by saying "it's a tough business." I'm sorry but people who make it a tough business don't get to say that. That's just deflection and justification.

Furthermore, everybody I've ever heard give an opinion on Saget gives a negative one. Full House's success was in spite of Saget as Danny Tanner, not because of it. Franklin's gut feeling was just nepotism and favoritism plain and simple. Saget is in no way better, and certainly not better suited for the role, than was Posey. In fact, Saget had a reputation for dirty humor AND preferred that type of "comedy" anyway (hence he didn't really wanna be there,) making him a worse choice.

Also, who the bleep uses profanity around kids??? That's just disgusting. Inexcusable. What a lowlife.

The last thing that I found troublesome, given my lack of respect for Saget, was the portrayal of him as a faithful husband. I mean, it's so great to be a faithful husband so I don't like having to give him credit for that!! Boo.

Yeah I found it odd that they did not cast any parents for Jodie Sweetin. I also found it odd they didn't mention anything about her meth addiction.

reply

Her meth addiction was long AFTER the series ended. She was an adult.

However, she got sloppy drunk at Candace's wedding and they could have included that. Would have been bad to include it at the end of the film though.

I think you're sloppy drunk . Jodie was like 14 at Candace's wedding, I don't think they let her drink.

reply

And you don't know your facts. It's in Jodie's autobiography. She discussed it several times. She got drunk and had to be carried out.

reply

Um that doesn't even make sense. Maybe it's made up or she's talking about another event because she was only 14 then

I also didn't understand at all why he thought Bob was a better choice, given his disrespect before the show what he complete hell made him think that Bob Saget was a good choice to olay this sweet loving caring great father? The guy who played him seemed more fitted for the role and I can't believe Saget was like that behind the scenes, he really did sell the whole Danny Tanner role but they didn't know that because they wanted him before he even auditioned.
