Was it just me or...

Was the casting for the older Andrea Barber spot on? I thought the rest of the castings were either awful or just ok, but had to do a double take at the older Andrea Barber - she looked SO similar and had her mannerisms down pat!

reply

Yeah, I agree! She looked a lot like the real Andrea and her clothing and mannerisms were similar. They did a great job with the casting there. Unfortunately, only there.

Agreed.
And while Bob Saget's role player didn't much look the part, I did think he sounded a lot like him with the deeper, brooding type voice.

reply

I still think the guy that played Danny looks like Macaulay Culkin's brother Rory.

He was the guy in Scream 4.

Lara Croft Himiko! The First Sun Queen! This is Yamatai.

reply

Yeah, the Kimmie lookalike was the only one I could buy.

I actually thought that they did a great job casting Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos. They may not have physically looked a lot like them, but the resemblances were better than average and the mannerisms were spot on.

Dakota Guppy as young Stephanie was also great. So was the older Andrea Barber.

I felt like the others totally missed the mark, especially teenage Stephanie/Jodie Sweetin. Looked nothing like her and had none of her mannerisms. She was awful.

The girl playing Lori Loughlin was pretty, but there was no resemblance in looks or mannerisms. Same with the girl playing the older Candace Cameron.

Some of these people did not sound American. who here agrees

reply

I heard a canadian accent from several of the "actors". Most notably, the actress who played Saget's wife. Lifetime's movies are often filmed in Toronto.

reply

Totally! Kept hearing her say "aboot".

reply

Aboot? Have you ever been to Canada? I live in Toronto, and we do NOT say aboot.

reply

I'm just repeating what she said and that actress is Canadian. I'm sure, like the U.S., there are different dialects depending on where you live.

reply

I'm sorry, but some Canadians do sound kind of like they're saying "aboot." I really don't notice accents from people from B.C. They just sound like people from the Pacific Northwest. (I'm from Washington state.)

You know who else who sounds like they're saying "aboot"? Americans in the northern midwest. States that border a couple of Canada's provinces. So it's no insult to notice these accents with neighboring places in the U.S. and Canada. "Aboot" is a common reference, and it's kind of true for parts of the Canada and the U.S.

reply

I totally heard the "aboots" there were a few...

and your screen name is hilarious...

true story, when i was a kid and obsessed with full house as we all were when it was on, every time DJ would say "Kathy Santoni" I always heard "Kathy's Antoni" and i would be like who's this Antoni? is that Kathy's bf? I still remember that, oh boy...I grew up with the show so I have a lot of memories attached to it, but your screen name just took me back lol...thanks!

reply

She really did!

reply

I said the same thing! She and Jodie had the best casting, I was like wait they got the real actress
