Is this version an adaptation of the original book of Robinson Crusoe by any chance?

It's kind of told as the 'true' version of the story, but it's much less realistic than the original novel.

It's a kind of simplified version of the Daniel Defoe story. The big difference is that the animals are in charge in this movie version.
