Shouldn't it be Ma Loutre?

Anyway, this is a very odd film. A black comedy with magic realism mixed in, but most of all, having the strangest tone. It might have been okay, but all the shenanigans seemed to get in the way too much of the storytelling.

But the tone thing sticks with me. It seems very Gallic, somehow, and reminds me of the Tintin movie, which had a tone that was completely wrong. It should have been something much more akin to the tone in this movie. But instead Spielberg had to take it over and make it a special effects movie.

La Binoche takes a surprising turn here, not playing her usual confident and commanding character, but a mostly a hysterical one.
