They should do a live version of the wizard of oz now

I recently heard there is The Wizard of Oz musical on Broadway. Maybe they can do a live version of that for TV.

The only musical on Broadway that's related to The Wizard of Oz is Wicked. There is no live Wizard of Oz musical on Broadway.

I think you mean Andrew Lloyd Webber's version of "The Wizard of Oz," which is just an adaptation of the MGM movie with more songs he wrote.

And if you're going to watch a live version of a play based on the MGM on TV... why not just watch the MGM movie? I'd understand if it was, say, the Toronto Civic Light Opera's musical version which uses a wholly new set of songs and an original adaptation of the original L. Frank Baum book, but why the same songs and story adaptation you can get by popping in a DVD or Blu-Ray?

What we see and what we seem are but a dream. A dream within a dream.

There are a few different versions and it would be great to see any one of them. i just think if there is a live TV version of the wiz then why not do a live version of the original The wizard of oz

TNT did air a concert version some time in the mid-'90s, though I don't know if it really counts as a live production. They probably haven't done a more elaborate TV version because everyone involved would suffer from comparisons to the original movie. The Wiz didn't have this problem because that movie doesn't have as big a fanbase.

Or by watching it on TV normally or seeing it on a streaming service like Netflix?
