Will there be another dark age of animation?

Back in 2006, cartoons became pretty stagnant and mediocre. However, around 2010-2012, we started seeing more creative things like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Mystery Incorporated, Gravity Falls, etc. There are still plenty of good cartoons out nowadays (Harvey Beaks, We Bare Bears, Steven Universe, Star vs. Forces of Evil, Archer, Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman, etc). But with the rise of soulless reboots like Powerpuff girls 2016, and possibly Justice League Action (though I would need to see more of it instead of an image or two), will there be another dark age of animation?

As for me, I feel like it's less about a dark age of animation, and more of a possible dark age for Cartoonnetwork. They already had theirs around the '07, and if the channel keeps cashing in on reboots, I feel like the same could happen again.

Generalizations are bad kids.

How was I making a generalization? I even said I still find cartoons today that I enjoy.

Like the 1980s? Doubtful. Luckily we've progressed well beyond He-Man and Rubix the Amazing Cube. I hear those types of shows shows were just as horrible to work on as they are to watch.

Only good toons that came from that decade were The Raccoons, Mighty Mouse, and Ducktakes.

I disagree. The 80s did had far better cartoons like Inspector Gadget, Garfield and Friends, Muppet Babies, David the gnome, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and The Littles.

Don't play games with a girl who can play better.

He-Man and Rubix the Amazing Cube are still amazing compared to horse *beep* that are made now.

Nowadays we have Gravity Falls and Steven Universe. Suck it.

1 good show per year wont make me happy.
Example - Only good cartoon from 2014 was Over the Garden Wall.
Breadwiners ? Worst Nick cartoon ever.
Sonic Boom ? Sucked balls
Clarence ? Nope
Dont even want to start me on adult shows...

If you only can see failed pilots nowadays.

Sofia the First, My Little Pony, The Garfield Show, and The Lion Guard are the only cartoon shows from today that I really like. I think Disney Jr. has far more interesting cartoon shows now than the new ones on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

My Little Pony was really great until Season 3/4.
Others are either mediocre or i hate.

ummm 2006 = the last airbender arguably the best written children's cartoon any of these networks have ever produced and shortly after that phineas & ferb in 2007 another acclaimed show, not to mention original ben 10, danny phantom, etc

Wouldn't surprise me since it's been exactly a decade since the last one. But no matter how bad the cartoons turn out to be, at least they'll never be soulless abominations or cash-ins, like they were from the 70s and up until the early 80s. The Dark Age of Animation is to 70s cartoons what the Video Game Crash was to 80s video games.
