Big fan of both Scooby-Doo and Kiss, and...

I enjoyed this movie-it had a lot of cool nods to the band, their songs, and just their celebrity in general- but something seemed off. Can't really place it, but it seemed different from any other WB Animation Studios movie I've seen. The Flintstones and WWE was the last one I had watched before this one, so maybe I'm still recuperating from that. Lol. Just watched Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest, where they team up with Jonny Quest and it was really good.

This one just decided to place some odes to a different section of the library.

Super-powered Kiss is pretty much a throw back to Hanna Barbera in the 70s, which turned The Three Stooges and Harlem Globetrotters into super heroes, and don't forget about the clear ties to Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park, which was also in part produced by Hanna Barbera.

However the whole Kiss-teria thing seems more like the old world building you saw in the late eighties and earlier nineties adventure shows. Basically like they took a few ideas and went creatively nuts on them.

WBAnimation had really not yet gone too far into either of these areas before. Which I suppose could be another test, but it makes it feel a bit off when you compare it to the others.

While Scooby Doo is no stranger to going to other worlds and teaming with real super heroes through out his many year history, this movie feels a bit like it's different from the others, but feels so much like it belongs to this new era where WBAnimation is pulling out a lot of throwbacks to Scooby's history and the history of the company that produced him Hanna Barbera.

Yeah, same here. I'm also a huge fan of both KISS and Scooby-Doo. Big KISS fans will enjoy this one the most, as there are so many inside references, including relatively obscure ones, from their entire history, and the way they make fun of themselves is really entertaining.
