Red Widow
I have only seen one episode, but is it based on the australian series Red Widow? The seem the same, but the swedish one has better actors

shareI would not say that it's not based upon any other movie or series at all.
It's (almost) like saying that all movies with a car-chase is based on a specific movie.
I have seen all of the 8 parts and they are very well done and have a unique story
Even if I'm from Sweden it's very rare that give high points on Swedish movies or series,
Why? it could be because I'm very fond of thrillers/action
This is so well done with a very good story that I am giving it 9 out of 10!!

Just check the end credits of each episode, which says:
Gåsmamman is based on the format "Penoza"
Rather lame series if you ask me, just like TV4's Modus. It's OK, but nothing more than that. 5/10. share
Yes you are right about that its based on the "format Penoza" that got around 28 episodes, I haven't seen it.
Gåsmamman got 8 Episodes, and there is one thing that they got in common:
That the wife takes over the illegal business after her husband is killed
I have been reading about every episode of the Dutch Penoza, and it seems to be the only thing that they got in common.
Anyway,, I liked it a lot, and it's far better than the crap on the Swedish channel TV4
