First, They put The Mortal Instruments on TV under Shadowhunters, now they put Tomorrow when the war began on TV to reboot the series and pretend the film version never happened.
shareI don't think they're forgetting the film ever happened, but cast changes can be a real nuisance for continuity reasons, hence partially the reason film 2 never came out also due to Omnilab basically going bust after the film Killer Elite flopped.
However, The new TV Series will be quite interesting in the sense that it will have 6 episodes based on book 1 which will give it a more detailed look into parts of the novel that weren't used in the original film like the hermit etc.
I think it will work out good.

Seeing this made me wonder about the sequels of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) that were supposed to happen, but never did.

Caitlin Stasey and the girl that is now in The Originals didn't want to be in the second movie. Shame really because I thought the movie was pretty good but would rather a series to flesh out the story a bit more.
